RAJASTHAN BAGS NATIONAL TOURISM AWARD
You will be happy to know that Rajasthan has been awarded the Best State for Tourism related activities and programmes for the year 2007-2008. This award was given by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Tourism Minister of the State Mrs Bina Kak received the award from Union Home Minister Mr. P Chidambaram in a glittering ceremony held at Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi.
Rajasthan has achieved this Best State award for the initiatives taken by it to promote tourism in the state. Besides the Best State award, Rajasthan also got three awards and two certificates in different Hotel categories. Ummed Bhawan palace, Jodhpur bagged Best Hotel award in 5 star category, Gajner Palace, Bikaner in Heritage Classified and Shiv Niwas, Udaipur was awarded in classified Grand category. Samod palace, Jaipur received letter of appreciation in Hotel segment for providing excellent services since last four years while Fateh Prakash palace Udaipur won this for providing excellent services in Heritage Grand segment for last three years.
